Lumberjanes Special Collection Coming in March

Next spring, a Lumberjanes book collection will reprint the three special issues they’ve released so far: Beyond Bay Leaf (2015) by Faith Erin Hicks and Rosemary Valero-O’Connell turns a night stargazing into a quest to help a ghost pony. Makin’ the Ghost of It (2016) had two stories: the one by Jen Wang and Christine Norrie starts with a ghost story about an axe murderer in the gold rush mining camp days, while Kelly Thompson and Savanna Ganucheau show Ripley facing off against a sphinx and her riddle to save counselor Jen. Faire and Square (2017) also has two: Holly Black and Marina Julia send the campers to a medieval faire where they wind up fighting a flying creature, and the backup by Gabby Rivera and Gaby Epstein is about Ripley, telenovelas, and storytelling. (The first has a character, Rowena, who travels with the faire and whom I’d like to see more of.) Lumberjanes: Bonus Tracks will be available in March 2018 and can be ordered now from your local comic shop with Diamond code NOV17 1352. The cover price is $14.99. Since the cover price of the specials added up to $21, and since the collections usually include the variant covers, that makes waiting for this trade a sensible deal.
