Comet TV, the network with the aim of bringing “audiences everywhere the best in science fiction and horror programming” has taken another step towards that goal by releasing apps for Roku (series 3 and 4) and Apple TV (generation 4). Previously, they were an antenna broadcast network, available in over 100 markets and through www.comettv.com. As a proud cable cord-cutter, I’ve been watching some of the goofy Comet offerings over the air, but the app, along with access to the broadcast feed, provides a program schedule. Through which I found out that, ooh, tonight they’re showing Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine, with Vincent Price, Frankie Avalon, and Dwayne Hickman! It’s on again Monday morning, followed by the sequel, Dr. Goldfoot and the Girl Bombs. Comet TV app menu options Also airing this month are Poltergeist: The Legacy, Bubba Ho-Tep, and The Amityville Horror. The app (based on my Roku experiment) only broadcasts from 9 AM to 3 AM except on Saturday and Sunday, where programming begins at 6 AM. Be sure to watch for Night of the Comet on Saturday afternoon April 1! More digital platform availability is promised for later this year.
